10 Best Tents for Backpackers That Will Fulfill Your Needs for Summer Camping

  • Hi! My name is Solenn, and I’m French. I am currently finishing my Master’s Degree in Environmental Geography at the University of Strasbourg. Two years ago I lived in Athens, Greece as an Erasmus student. It was an awesome year, full of nice travels and meeting new friends.

This is where I met my best friend, @marina.prz, who told me about @wanderlusthero. In Athens, I also found my cat. She was a baby, starving on the street and I decided to foster her. We fell in love with each other and she became part of my family. She lives in Strasbourg with me now. My family lives across the country so I don’t see them very often but when I do, I take advantage of every minute spent with them. They live by the sea, I love the sea. I find it impressive, its beauty, its strength…

I am an animal lover and I’ve been vegan for two years now. It is the best decision I’ve ever made in my entire life. It’s made me healthier, happier and more compassionate about everything that surrounds me.

Traveling means open-mindness. It allows me to see different parts of our beautiful planet and most of all, meet new people. I love learning about different cultures and ways of living.

I started seriously learning two foreign languages (English and German) at the age of 11. I can comfortably say now that I am bilingual and I would love learning other languages! I think I have a sort of gift for languages and communication and I love using it.

And now, I'm a part of #WanderlustHeroTeam as a content creator and part-time traveler. One thing that makes me feel alive because I can be myself here.😊

  • Hi, y'all! I'm Vandro, a 26-year-old Indonesian who loves to travel, share stories, adventures, and experiences. I'm not an expert, I'm just a guide and explorer. I'm the founder of @wanderlusthero who lives and travels around the world as digital nomads.

In both personal and professional life, I've found that travel inspires me more than anything else I do. That's why I'd like to share my experiences with you and to get advance guidance on combining travel with social work. It's more than a dash of wanderlust inspiration!

Traveling for me puts things into perspective. It allows me to realize that there are far bigger things that my problems. It allows you to see and to realize that the world is not always about you. It allows me to see how other people live and what they have to deal with on a daily basis, that's how I survive in this world.

As for me, travel has something special in my heart. It shows us that every day is always different. There are no routines, no set rules, or no expectation. I just flow like a wind, I can do what I want, whenever I please. I've been traveling since when I was very young and one of the things I love the most is the freedom that travel and this lifestyle give me.

Today I choose life. Every morning when I wake up I can choose joy, happiness, negativity, pain... To feel the freedom that comes from being able to continue to make mistakes and choices - today I choose to feel life, not to deny my humanity but embrace it.

This is the reason why I'm in #WanderlustHeroTeam. I want to connect all traveler in the world and together we can give something valuable to this world and to make this life even better with something that we have.😊

  • My name is Marina Perez, I’m a French girl, born in Lyon. Well, I may say that I'm a half French, half Spanish, with some Caribbean origins! I'm currently living in Brussels, Belgium. I am a student in a joint master’s degree in communication and Humanitarian Solidarity between the University of Lyon and the University of Bucharest.
I’ve worked as a communication officer and project manager in several organizations: private businesses, non-profit organizations and public institutions.

My favorite hobbies are to travel and to explore the world. I also like to learn things about culture, art, and history. I am also interested in environmental issues, that is the reason why I became vegan in 2016. What makes me unique is my personal ambition, my thirst to discover new things and my will to share #vegantravel tips with a lot of people!

Travel have a special meaning for me: emancipation and open-mindedness! I have always been fascinated by travelling since my parents put me in our first motorhome. During these years, I was able to expand my creativity and my knowledge of several languages.

As my thirst for discoveries and meeting new cultures is never satiated, I wish to travel more and more and share this passion to my future children and to my friends.

My first travel was in Spain, I was 6 months old! I lived there a lot of time, since my father is from there. Then I went with my parents by motorhome to Portugal, England, Scotland, Wales, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, and of course France!

I lived in Greece for one year, so that I had the chance to visit many places from there: the Greek peninsula, the Greek Islands (Aegina, Santorini, Mikonos, Sifnos and so on) and Turkey!  During this unforgettable year, I lived emotionally charged moments and met amazing friends! Travel during Erasmus instead of partying a lot is the best advice I could give you to enjoy it the most!

And now, I'm a part of #WanderlustHeroTeam as communication officer because I always want to share my point of view and vision to grow up this travel community and to create a sustainable international relationship among nations.😊

  • She travels because it makes her feels small compared to the vast world waiting to be discovered. It pushes her out of comfort zone to do things out of the ordinary and to more importantly, to live a fulfilling life.

Through solo travel, she has discovered a new found sense of capability and confidence in herself. She has also experienced so much kindness and generosity around this crazy amazing world. Time and time again, we’ve been taught by travel that we all have so much more in common than not.

We can't imagine a scenario where you visit Amsterdam and don't step foot on Dam Square. It's the center of everything and it's hard to miss. But don't just view it as a landmark or meeting point. Take time to stand here and really look around. This is where a dam was built on the Amstel River and the city began.

The New Church is hundreds of years old, but still called new. The national monument has huge significance to the Dutch people. It's not just a random obelisk, it pays homage to Dutch soldiers through the years. Sure, pass through Dam Square but take time to appreciate it. Otherwise, a trip to Amsterdam is not complete.

  • A flat road cuts through the heart of it, so makes an easy short but rewarding walk to enjoy the river and high rock faces. There are hiking trips available but many people will be satisfied just taking the road both below and above the gorge.

And one of our wanderlust heroes just made it on her way to the Sahara Desert from Marrakech. She had such a nice time, especially with the driver whom she talked with. More than that, she also tried amazing traditional food and visited a lot of stunning spots to get the best moments during her journey in Morocco.

One of the lessons that we can learn from this part of Morocco is the absolute importance of water, and a walk to and past the far end of the gorge illustrates that lesson very well. But, one of the biggest lessons that traveling has taught us is that the world does not revolve around us. She travels because it puts things in perspective.

Well, no more talking, it's definitely the one of the best places that you don't want to miss !

  • Meet one of our wanderlust heroes @colpari, a nice and charismatic Bolivian woman that we met when we travel in Europe. We had such a wonderful time and endless talking with her. So, we decided to ask her why she travels. Her responses left us nothing short of inspired and astounded.

Every time, she travels to meet more people like them and to hopefully, one day, be as happy, giving, and content in life as they are.

One of the biggest lessons that traveling has taught us is that the world does not revolve around us. She travels because it teaches her humility. It teaches her kindness and empathy. Most of all, she travels because it teaches her to go beyond a person’s social status in order to truly get to know a person.

After a couple of years of backpacking, she quickly learned that traveling is so much more than having a good time. It is about meeting people and learning something new about them.

Last but not least, she travels because she wants to appreciate. She wants to appreciate people and relationships. She travels because she wants to appreciate the little things in life like a comfortable bed or the joys of a home cooked meal.

So, how about you? Why do you travel?

  • Our #WanderlustHero teaches us, if there is one thing we know, it is that life is short. We don’t even have the certainty that we will live until we are old. So ultimately, if your goal in life is to be happy, then why not pursue the things that do make you happy? Explore the world, go and see all you possibly can!

It's a wonder of the world!😃🌍 Situated midway between Perth and Geraldton, the pinnacles desert can be classified a good to visit kind of an attraction. The genesis of pinnacles is what actually worth having a look at, especially when it is understood that keep sinking and emerging over few thousands of years.

There are two guided tours/talks held in the forenoon and after noon session respectively. It will be better to attend the talk before taking a walk though the desert.

  • It was the day before Friday, she figured she'd throw a quote, "Sometimes on the way to the dream, you get lost and find a better one." Horseshoe Bend is the intimate Grand Canyon experience. It is best viewed late morning or mid day. The bend and river are in shadow at other times. At or just before sunset, the sun will be in your eyes and the bend will be in shadow.

It's one of the places which leave you completely stunned with its beauty. And the best part is how the view is unraveled, you have take a short hike and as you reach at the top and walk to the edge, only then you see this and when you do, you are left completely awestruck by its beauty. Perfect for sun-set shots, it's a photographer's paradise and you will see so many of them.

P.s: One has to be extremely careful (especially if you have kids) as there are no rails and you can fall to death if you are not careful. But its not unsafe if you are cautious.

  • When she was a child, she used to read books voraciously. She would read page after page and obsess over faraway lands. Only when she started traveling did she realize what the travel quote “it’s better to see something once than hear about it a thousand times.” Often times, she stops and reflect on how travel has changed her life. During these times, she realize how much travel is a part of her. During her teenage years, she would read books and wonder what it would be like to go to all these exotic places.

But then, she finally made it! The crater was making a calming sound. The sight of the glazed eruption is also can be beautifully seen everywhere. Words cannot describe the beauty of the sunrise watched from one of the viewpoints over Bromo and surrounding mountains.

This is one of the the best journeys that she has ever had!!
